Weddings
Weddings are joyous occasions and the Key West Garden Club and Monroe
County are pleased to allow The Garden at West Martello Fort to be used for
weddings under the following conditions:
- The Garden can accommodate no more than 50 wedding
guests.
- A donation to the Key West Garden Club is required for
all weddings.
- The Garden is open to the public Tuesday – Saturday from
9:30 a.m. to 3:15 pm. If a wedding is held during the public hours the
donation is $250. Weddings can also be held after 3:15 pm, but only during
daylight hours. If the wedding is held after closing, the donation is $300.
No weddings will be scheduled for Monday.
- Wedding reservations can be made through the Garden Club
special events phone line (305-294-1262). The donation payment (checks made
payable to the Key West Garden Club) and signed waiver of liability should be
sent as soon as possible after a date is requested, but no later than 30 days
prior to the wedding. Send both to: Key West Garden Club, P.O. Box 2277, Key
West, FL 33045.
- Refunds may be provided if the Garden Club is given
notice in writing prior to the date of the wedding.
- Each wedding is allocated two hours for set-up, the
ceremony, and any subsequent activities. If two hours are exceeded, an
additional donation of $100 is required for the first half hour and an
additional $200 for the next half hour ($300 in all).
- The wedding party must leave the Garden as they find it,
including the removal of all litter. No props, architectural embellishments
such as arches and pillars or potted plants are allowed in the Garden.
- White plastic chairs are available for rental at $1 each
and tables at $5 each. If chairs and/or tables are used, the wedding party is
responsible for set up and replacement in the storage area. Payment is due on
the day of the wedding.
- A champagne toast is permissible. Food and other
alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
- The Garden Club provides a volunteer host for each
wedding and will try to meet your requirements as they fit within our rules.
Be reminded, however, that this is a working garden; weather and other
conditions oftentimes require considerable flexibility.
